Arizona Senate Bill 1070, or the “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act,” is a new immigration bill in Arizona and the strictest anti-illegal immigration bill measure in many years. The bill makes it a state misdemeanor for anyone to be in the United States illegally and requires police to attempt to determine a person’s immigration status if there is a reasonable suspicion, and to arrest a person if there is a probable cause that the person is an illegal alien or a legal alien not in possession of registration documents.
