Early reviews praise ‘LGBT Youth in America’s Schools’

Reflecting the urgency of the issues covered in the book, LGBT Youth in America’s Schools by Jason Cianciotto and Sean Cahill has garnered strong praise in its first reviews from School Library Journal and Instinct magazine. ‘Disabled Veterans in History’ named as one of Foreign Policy’s best books on PTSD

Foreign Policy has selected Disabled Veterans in History for its reading list of best books on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Lt. Col. Robert Bateman writes that this book “a good multinational examination of the history” of disorders affecting veterans and the evolution of “changing attitudes” towards such illnesses. Originally published in 2000, Disabled Veterans in History is an anthology edited by David A. Gerber. The Press, MPublishing, and the Gayle Morris Sweetland Center for Writing launch new Digital Rhetoric Collaborative book series, book prize, and website

The University of Michigan Press, MPublishing, and the University of Michigan’s Gayle Morris Sweetland Center for Writing have formed a partnership to launch the Sweetland Digital Rhetoric Collaborative (DRC), which will publish a series of born-digital or digitally enhanced books on digital rhetoric; award an annual prize of $5,000 for the best book published in the series; and host a website by and for teachers and scholars working in digital rhetoric that will feature a curated blog, offer a resources section and wiki, and serve as a forum for conversations on digital rhetoric and related topics. Press author Sara Fitzgerald wins 2012 IPPY Award for “Elly Peterson”

Congratulations to Sara Fitzgerald on winning an Independent Publisher Book Award for Elly Peterson: “Mother” of the Moderates. The biography of Peterson, who was one of the highest-ranking women in the Republican Party, was awarded the Bronze Medallion in the category of Best Great Lakes Regional Non-Fiction.
