Introducing Two New Staff Members at University of Michigan Press

University of Michigan Press (UMP) is pleased to introduce two new staff members.

Lanell White will join University of Michigan Press as its new Sales and Marketing Director on September 4. Lanell's deep experience in digital strategy, institutional sales, and market analysis includes roles as director of client relations and sales at publishing technology provider Redlink; product manager and market development manager at ProQuest; and senior analyst positions at consultancy providers Outsell and Foresee. She looks forward to working with authors, editors, and the Press's distribution and retail partners to grow the business. Editorial Director Mary Francis will continue to manage the sales and marketing department until September.

With a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan, Lanell also has a deep appreciation for the complementary roles that presses and libraries are playing in scholarly communications: Says Lanell, "what an honor it is to join the University of Michigan Press and to contribute to its growth at such a pivotal time. I look forward to working with everyone at the Press and the Library to advance their publishing mission."

Emma DiPasquale is also joining the organization where she will be the first Community Manager for the Fulcrum publishing platform for enriched long-form scholarship, built with generous support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Emma comes to Ann Arbor from West Virginia University with experience in digital publishing and society management. Fulcrum is growing apace and is on target to host over 6,000 ebooks and digital projects from a range of distinguished publishers, including University of Michigan Press, by the end of January 2019. Emma will be working with several early adopter partners and looking to introduce more mission-driven publishers to Fulcrum's infrastructure and services. She starts June 25.
