To support U-M Press monograph authors, our Marketing Manager Theresa Schmid has created a set of resources related to book promotion. A “What We Do document clarifies what role the Sales, Marketing, and Outreach team plays in promoting authors’ books, and a “UMP Author Marketing Guide provides authors with the simplest steps that they can take to help. For those who are feeling especially vigorous, a variety of supplemental guides is available for a deeper dive into additional avenues for promoting books. Theresa writes that “we hope that these resources will answer a lot of the questions you may have about promoting your book, but please do not hesitate to reach out to me or if your questions are unanswered by these or if you’re looking for more specific guidance about which tactics make the most sense for your book.”
