Author marketing guides and resources

To support U-M Press monograph authors, our Marketing Manager Theresa Schmid has created a set of resources related to book promotion. A “What We Do document clarifies what role the Sales, Marketing, and Outreach team plays in promoting authors’ books, and a “UMP Author Marketing Guide provides authors with the simplest steps that they can take to help. For those who are feeling especially vigorous, a variety of supplemental guides is available for a deeper dive into additional avenues for promoting books. The resources are all available in a regularly updated folder linked from https://www.press.umich.edu/authors/mktg#mktgyourbook.

Theresa writes that “we hope that these resources will answer a lot of the questions you may have about promoting your book, but please do not hesitate to reach out to me or um.press.mktg@umich.edu if your questions are unanswered by these or if you’re looking for more specific guidance about which tactics make the most sense for your book.”
