The MICHIGAN ELT team caught up with author Nigel Caplan at the Symposium on Second Language Writing at Purdue University to talk about his newly published Grammar Choices for Graduate and Professional Writers. Visit the MICHIGAN ELT YouTube Channel and watch Nigel’s video to find out why he wrote Grammar Choices, how writers can take advantage of the book’s resources, and how the book can be used with the 3rd edition of Academic Writing For Graduate Students (Swales & Feak).

This book is quite good. I just got it to use with my students. I’ve been trying to find a good that focuses on the sentence syntax structure – not many grammar books address this. And this book is pretty good in it.
One thing we must realize is that sentence syntax structure is much easier to grasp for European students but for Asian students whose first language has a very different structure, it’s difficult. Thanks!
Hi Jonathan, thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you are using “Grammar Choices for Graduate and Professional Writers” and that MICHIGAN ELT is helping you make a difference in your classroom.
